Man Arrested For Allegedly Trying To Sell Drugs Outside Local Business

A West Liberty man has been arrested after he allegedly tried to sell drugs to shoppers at a local grocery story. 

 

Our news partner, NEWS 9 reports 28-year old Jakob Barnes was charged with possession with intent to deliver. Police say he was caught with more than 300 pills, a heroin spoon, marijuana and a pipe Tuesday afternoon.  He was arraigned late Tuesday night by magistrate Harry Radcliffe after a visit to the hospital for a possible drug overdose. 

 

Police say Barnes attempted to sell valium to several customers and employees at the Kroger store.  He's in jail on $5,000 bond.
